Creating Adam Project

People always ask me how did I get into Glitter Art?

Well... I have been doing Glitter Art for 6 years now, Mastered it by accident in 2010. When I got with my boyfriend who is now my husband... I wanted to create a painting for our new place. Well, I went around looking for art to hang on our walls when I realized, Hey I draw! I will just do it! At the time all I did was draw and sketch in my art portfolio.. After that day I said FOOK it!

I love Dia De Los Muestos, so I decided to Paint a Day of the dead Nun Praying with an orb glowing around her. I put glitter on the orb and showed it to my twin sister. She swears up and Down that I should do the whole thing in glitter. So I did! After that I started painting in glitter..

At first it was hard (when working with glitter now I can tell when a piece of work looks Messy) but after so many years I have finally mastered it! It is such a messy hobby!!!! I can't tell you how many times I went to work with glitter in my hair, or on my face... friends would come over and I would think I got it out and all of a sudden I would see them talking to me and notice a glisten on there cheek, which was glitter... you know how awwwwwwful it would be to say yeah ummm you have my project I was working on your face!! We would laugh of course the best thing to do with working with glitter is to ACCEPT IT!

At the beginning getting into art galleries..... was so difficult. So many galleries would turn me down. Yeah this was way before people started making art with trash, candy, wine corks, kissing lips, painting with your *coughs* Penis...etc. I had such a hard time. I remember a gallery turning me down because they were not familiar with that technique and that they only accepted acrylic, oils and sculpture's... WOW! When did art not defy the definition of the expression or application of human creative skill and imagination, typically in a visual form such as painting or sculpture, producing works to be appreciated primarily for their beauty or emotional power.

Houston is such a HUGE network for artist so I was stunned when one by one of the turned downs I was receiving. I was so grateful of the media attention I was receiving even though during that time it was so new, I say new because now in 2016 EVERYONE is doing glitter art!!

With this being said, During that time I have done glitter art I don't defy that that isn't who I am now, I'm grateful, I loved it (still doing glitter art) but I have mastered it.... I believe I can do so much more with my talent!  I love a challenge! For the past 3 years I have been telling friends and family that I have been wanting to do Swarovski art.

Every since I made my shoes with these crystals for my wedding I have fallen in love. Just making my shoes alone was sooooooooooo EXPENSIVE.

Even though it was expensive I was so fascinated creating with them! I am so attentive to detail that the seamstress who was reviewing my shoes in her hand asked me if I bought them. I told her no I made them. She told me I really needed to be a designer because the workmanship was so neat and perfect. I was so honored. I still am! That was a few years ago.

I have been dreaming of this project again for almost 3 years. I am calling it "Creating Adam Project"

Understanding "Creating Adam Project" - This Project is to help me Fund around 87,000 Swarovski Crystals to Make the Creation of Adam by Michelangelo (LIFE SIZE) preferably on 10 Feet Long By 6 Feet Wide on Heavy Duty Wood. When this Painting is Finished I will be entering it into Art Basel in Miami.

For those who are unaware of what Swarovski Crystal's are, it is a highest quality cut lead glass crystal using quartz, sand and minerals -One of the highest market of man made crystals.
Doing this project has always been a pipe dream of mine and with your help I can finally make this dream REALITY!

If you know me or have heard of me you know it is hard for me to ask for help. I have always been on the other side helping people who are struggling. 85% of the paintings I have made in the past to current has been used to raise money for people's medical expenses, illness, life struggling..etc I have proudly raised thousands and thousands of dollars to people in need.

Knowing that these stones are SO EXPENSIVE and time consuming gluing each and every tiny crystal to its necessary placement, it will take me about 7 to 10 months to complete. If funding is successful..

In doing so, this is where you guys come in! With every donation I will have enough money for Material, Art Basel Application Fee, Painting Transfer Cost, Airfare & Hotel Stay. Its going to cost me around $30,000 to get this dream off the ground.

I know I am asking a lot but this is something I have always wanted to attempt and I know I have the talent and drive to do it! I just don't have the finances. With your help you will put me on my path to following my passion and the opportunity to create a Art Gallery/Bar in Houston Texas. If you can not donate please at least share my story... I appreciate any little effort in helping me get closer to my DREAM :)

Again, if this goal is successful I want you to follow me on my journey.
You can follow every step I do on my Instagram & stay updated on my Blog.
